Local charity provides free first aid courses

Would you know what to do if someone collapsed from cardiac arrest in front of you? Keen to potentially save a life? CPR Counts are here to help.

Who are CPR Counts?

CPR Counts is a Sutton Coldfield based charity that runs free training courses in first aid for heart attacks, cardiac arrests and choking, as well as how to use a defibrillator.

Read about their stories:

Take a closer look - could you be the essential link in the chain?

You can find two documentary films on CPR Counts’s website:

  • Surviving Cardiac Arrest (The Journey Pt 1)

This film takes you through each link in the 'Chain of Survival' that needs to be in place for anyone to fully survive a cardiac arrest. If you were ever to face such a scenario you would make up the first two links of that chain.

  • CPR Counts (The Journey Pt 2)

This film takes you through the amazing story, full of coincidences, that led to the wonderful group of volunteers forming as CPR Counts, and much more.

Need a refresher?

If you’ve already taken advantage of this fantastic service, and need a quick reminder of the various sections of the course please visit their dedicated resources page.

Also here, at the foot of the page, is an amazing animation showing why you need to push 'Hard and Fast' but not too fast.

Stay in touch with CPR Counts for life-saving tips and courses

If you're not already, you can also follow their blog by simply submitting your email on their contact form here (the blue box to the right of the main ‘Contact Us’ form) and clicking ‘Follow’.

You'll receive notice of new posts and new public-access courses immediately as they are posted on our website.

Strength in numbers

If everyone who reads this blog can recruit just one more person to apply for a course, the CPR Counts team can continue to offer these free courses.

Share this blog or the CPR Counts course application page with your relations, friends and neighbours. You never know, one of them might save your life!

💡Top tip

Please consider putting the free what3words app on your phones:

Find your 3 word address with https://what3words.com/products/what3words-app

Should you need to call ANY of the emergency services but aren't sure of your location, anywhere in the world, this is quick (compared to giving a map reference) and invaluable and may save a life.
