Tax-free childcare available on school holiday clubs

Written by Sian Kelly | Jun 27, 2018 12:00:00 AM

With the school summer holidays rapidly approaching, HM Revenue & Customs “(HMRC”) have issued a timely reminder to parents that they are can  use the tax-free childcare scheme to pay for holiday clubs.

Almost 1 in 3 parents feel stressed at trying to arrange childcare over school holidays.

Irrespective of your employment status, parents can apply online for tax-free childcare, part of the government’s childcare choices offer, for children who are under 12.

For every £8 parents pay into their childcare account the government will add an extra £2, capped at £2,000 per child per year, or £4,000 for a disabled child. Parents that pay into their account regularly can ‘save up’ their allowance and use it for childcare during school holidays.

The attached link - childcare choices website. - gives parents more information on the scheme.
